Bonnaroo man.... Absolutely one of the best experiences in my whole life!!!! I mean Bonnaroo 2006 WAS the greatest experience.... but now 07 has surpassed it!! One of the main reasons is the fact that we found a secret passage way up to the front of the main stage!!! oh yeah, for almost all of the concerts we were within the.... oh i don't know... first 10 rows!!!! And it's official, now i'm spoiled and I have to see concerts from the front couple of rows. There's really nothing that compares man. So here's what I saw as incredible and unbelievable as it is :D:
Comedians: Lewis Black, Lynne Koplitz, Aziz Ansari, Dave Attell, Dov Davidoff-----> fuckin Lynne was the best... followed by Dave Attell! Lynne's a nut. full blown nut, crewd and rude!! I loved it!
Clutch (again)... already seen them before but it was fun seeing them with such a large crowd.... plus they played some new songs I haven't heard live! Bonus!
The Police... we were in the 4th row!!! Copeland rocks!! It's funny they introduced everyone in the band and Copeland got the biggest cheer of them all!!! Take that Sting! Ouch!! But yeah, opened up with S.O.S and it was an amazing show!! It's a once in a lifetime thing for me!
Tool... thank god i don't do acid!!!! This show single handedly was the most intense show! We were in about the 10th row for it!!! Tom Morello, the dude from Rage Against the Machine came out and Jammed it! Oh-MY-Gosh!!! Insane show, insane videos, insane lazer light show! Just... insane... I loved it! Say no to Acid kids. Just say no... so many people had to be evacuated from the stage for tripping out! ha ha ha
Widespread Panic... yay!!! I've been waiting soooo long to see them!! They Jammed, and Jammed until there was no jam left in me or anyone else! Great way to end Bonnaroo 2007! Rock on!
The White Stripes.... here we go allie... aaaaaaaa aaaaa PPpllooooooooo (thumb action). Yeah, they were not so.... good. I mean they weren't bad... they just weren't mind blowing... you know. I guess I'm glad I at least got to see them live.
Ben Harper and the Innocent Criminals!!!! Here---> we-----> go!!!!! This has to be my favorite show of the whole festival. Well it's a tie with Ziggy. But, I have never been so emotionally connected with a show. Seriously! I had Goose Bumps during every single song. I teared up, I laughed, I rocked out, danced... it was so freaking amazing!! We were only about 4 rows from front center stage. It was like Ben was singing in a small little cafe somewhere and I got to see and hear every little note played. Gosh!!! Ok, here's the kicker, John Paul Jones (led zeppelin) came out and did an encore performance of DAZED AND CONFUSED from lasts nights Super Jam. It was freaking amazing. The best part was the dueling basses. Ben Hapers bassist and JPJ did the best duel of basses I have ever seen!! AMAZING!!!! And then Ziggy Marley came out and did a song with them,.... oh man. Goose bumps. pure goosebumps! I would have paid 180 dollars just to see this performance from where we did! Amazing!
Ziggy Marley... this was my favorite dancing band. I don't think I danced so hard and long for a group!!! We were in like the 6th row for this show. It really does make a difference who you're standing near during a show, on how the experience will be for you. I was near a group of totally energenic guys who were dancing as crazily as I was!! Fucking Fantastic!! I will see you again Ziggy... oh yes... i will see you agian!!
Wilco... very nice (borat) very nice!! I enjoyed the music. I could have gone up to the front rows for this one but I wanted to save my energy for the white stripes. yeah, .!!! Should have gone to the front rows in this show!! :) Such groovey tunes they have!
The Flaming Lips------>>>> A MIND FUCK!!! OH my gosh. If anyone has gone to a flaming lips show you know what I mean!!! It's a mind fuck!!!! The first great part of this show was the fact that the group came out for a sound check and played War Pigs... a cock tease if you will. It was great because we had an hour until the show and needed that little adrenaline boost! The show man... the show. They dudes gave out lazer pointers to incorporate into the show! The guys come out and BAM! Confetti, baloons and such are blasted into the crowd.... and it begins! A show of craziness and it really is truely theatrical!! Nice show. I will be seeing them again in a smaller venue. That's for sure!!! It was nice to see all of the funny fur creatures, and sexy aliens. Fuckin crazy show. I reccomend for sure!
The String Cheese Incident-----> nice... everything that I expected. I danced. I loved. It was truely nice to see them finally! Yay cheese!
Bob Weir and Ratdog (again)... this show was for my man Adam!! He used to tour with the Grateful Dead and he came all the way to Roo just for Bob Weir!!! So naturally I took adam all the way to the first row baby for this concert!!! It was so nice not having to try to look over people to see the show. I absolutely loved this show. Even though I've seen them before, this experience was wayyyyyyy coooolllerr!! Great music!! "ALRIGHT BOBBY"!!! Goose bumps here too man!
Damien Rice.... snore.... ok, i'm awake. Good music, if you're at a coffee shop, or like getting ready for bed... but not for roo. Maybe in a smaller setting. I did enjoy it though don't get me wrong. Just in comparison with like Ziggy, it wasn't as entertaining! :D
The Decemberists... cool, calmed me down. I like them a lot. It was a good change of pace!
Kings of Leon... I loved this concert!!!! They rock!!! Oh my gosh the guys in this band are hot!!! No I'm not that kind of person, that likes bands because they dudes are hot... but i'm just stating the obvious that they are freakin stud muffins. We were very close for this one as well. Good music good allifer bonding moment! Seeing them live has made me like them ohhhh so much more!
Mute Math... pretty entertaining! Our first show after the Lewis Black on Thursday :)
The Black Keys... i have waited.... so ... long to see them. They had to be the most energetic people to enter a stage!! Really. They rocked so hard man. Great Great Great show!! I heart you Black Keys!!! Yay for being from Ohio. Represent folks! For real though. This was one of my all time favorite shows too!!
Old Crow Medicine Show.... I really liked this show!!!! The parts that we saw! Fucnky Funcky!!! I will have to see them again too.
John Butler Trio.... nice. I might have to get a little more into them. I enjoyed it. Hot as balls during this show, but I enjoyed it!
Uncle Earl... on the sonic stage. A change of pace. I like it! I needed to catch a little bit of something new!
Paolo Nutini... first concert of the day with Allie Beaners! I enjoyed. Nothing fantastic. But entertaining!
Cold War Kids... this was a sit down band for me. We just kind of sat down and watch the show from a distance. Pretty cool. yeah!
Super Awesome Jam with Ben Harper, John Paul Jones, and the Roots... OH----> MY------> GOSH!!!! This here ladies and gentlemen, was a once in a lifetime opportunity!!! I never realized how freaking awesome the ROOTS are! Kudos boys! They played many a Zeppelin songs, some Stevie Wonder. Dude, I can't get over how freakin awesome harper and crew are!! And JPJ had the best expression on his face the whole time. It was this like nastalgic awe and content face. He looked so happy and proud to the playing for that many people. He looks like the kind of guy you'd like to meet and have a beer with. Man! I wish I had a time machine and I could relive this concert over and over and over again! I'm in tears thinking this experience is over. Yes... i'm that much into my music! :D ha ha ha
And we caught a wee bit of Govt. Mule, Lily Allen, and STS9... we watched a few songs from these people. But moved on to bigger and better things :D It was a nice taste though!
Seriously there are too many shows to catch all of them!! I'm so happy I saw the ones I did though!!! I will be there bonnaroo... again... 2008! Baby. Bring me Jack Johnson this time!! Must... see... Jack Johnson. Talked with Brad and Brian and if you don't give us Johnson, we're going to Hawaii! We're there man!!
But yes, the whole trip for me was amazing!!! We were lucky, when we got there we were able to set up our camp site in the woods... which gave us the best freakin campsite there. I mean lets face it, if you gatta peee... wam, there's the woods ha ha ha. Plus, the shade. It was much needed in the tennessee heat! Plus i like trees!
I really really enjoyed the last night there too, after the shows we all went back to the campsite and played some asshole, got too wasted I embarressed myself. ha ha ha. I got so wasted that I couldn't stop laughing. But!! I'm not the only one. Brian and Allie got into the same vortex and it was absolutely impossible to get out. My cheeks hurt now. It's just hard to play drinking games when you can't control yourself as it is. And fuckers... as soon as I was supposed to be President... we stopped playing. That's freakin conveinent isn't it, they couldn't handle the though of a female president. ha ha ha. I guess the funniest part of the night was when Allie yelled out "whose the asshole!!!!" trying to get someone to clear the cards.... only to find out it was her. She should have known man. She was asshole 10 times out of our like 12 games. ha ha ha. yeah, she was wasted!
Another funny thing I will remember of the weekend was Brian being called "Vag" (as in vagina) all weekend because he wouldn't bone the chick nextdoor to us. Thank god he didn't though because she more than likely had herpes... which led us the whole weekend to immitating the herpes commerical "I have herpes.... and I don't".... you know know which one I'm talking about! ha ha ha. "vag". Ha ha ha ha. and Oh man!! poor Brian had so many ticks on him too it wasn't even funny. He had like 10 or something. Grose. Where as we had like none! Poor vag. Well, allifers did have one tick, but doctor justin amputated it. Yay Justin!
OK. I could probably go on and on forever like this, but lets just put it this way, both bonnaroo trips were the most fantastic trips I have ever been on. I would have paid any dollar amount to have experienced them! I will go back next year, and every single year I can. It's going down as one of the things I will always remember, til the day i die!
In the process of making a Bonnaroo slideshow! It might take a while... too many fantastic pics! :D!
